Perspective has much influence on our lives. I am constantly saying that you will find what you are looking to find. For example, if you are looking for something to be angry about then you will find it or if you are looking for something to make you happy then will find that instead. Our worldview has much to do with our impression of what is happening around us. This is especially true when it comes to a scarcity mindset or an abundance mindset. If you notice what you lack, then you will always be lacking. If you notice your blessings, then you will always be blessed.

In Paul’s first letter to Timothy (1 Timothy 6:6-11), Paul instructs Timothy on what Timothy needs to teach as a leader in the church. Paul reminds him that that there is great gain when godliness is combined with contentment. If you fail to realize the abundance or rich life you have, then you may end up chasing more. Chasing more could lead to a desire for riches beyond a blessed life, only causing destruction and pain. A scarcity mindset could lead to love of money, because you are always looking for money and not toward God. An abundance mindset leads to contentment and trust in our Creator, keeping our eyes upon Him. An abundance mindset not only helps us appreciate our rich life, but it is part of a firm foundation for life.
