Extraordinary Transformation
Sermon Notes for 7.13 and 7.16
Sunday, I had an extraordinary experience of God’s grace. Just before the Celebration service, I received some news that shook me. In previous years, this news would have distracted me from worship and any conversations, and it would have been running through my mind all day. However, Sunday brought a different experience. I absorbed the news, said a prayer, and felt supernatural peace and joy surround me. I knew the peace and joy of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. It took me a while to notice my current state verses what my response would have been at a different time of my life, but when I noticed, I was in awe of the transformation that Jesus has made. Life with the Holy Spirit has changed my life for the better.
Jesus has the power to bring change for the good for all of our lives. This week, we pause to explore the ultimate transformation of death to new life, Lazarus’ resurrection. Jesus raised Lazarus from stinking decay to a completely new life. Just as Jesus brought extraordinary transformation to Lazarus, Jesus has the power to make all things new in our world. (John 11:17-44)
